Poems/Lyrics
LIKE I'M DOING WRONG
(by Randy E. Halprin)
I haven't always been perfect
And I know I'll never be
But I try to be a good person -
fill my days with good deeds
I don't think that I'm the righteous
I've made enough mistakes to fill a sea,
and littered it with broken hearts
Sometimes focused on my own selfish needs.
I do realise my mistakes.
Yeah, it took a long time to do.
But I've tried to right every wrong I've done -
done everything I could.
And it might make for a good song,
but even when I'm doing right,
I'm still treated like I'm doing wrong.
Yeah, even when I'm doing right,
I'm still treated like I'm doing wrong.
THE DOOR
(by Randy E. Halprin)
I'm drowning in the mire
I'm choking on the mud
Been cut a thousand times
Thought I was covered by the blood
Been a sacrificial lamb of sorts -
been all of that and more
I put all of the blame on me
BUT
You still kick me out the door
Be careful what you wish for
Be careful what you say
Be careful for what you hope for
Want for
Or Pray
Heaven let me in
I thought you forgave me for my sins?
But it seems the more I pray for
Hope for
Want for
You just slam the door
Will it get better?
Will I be allowed in?
All I really want for
Need for
Hope for
Is you to open
The door.
ENVELOPE
(A love song, by Randy E. Halprin)
The winter sun lights up,
shines as bright as your smile.
Fills me up inside with hope -
and lingers for a while.
Shining so brilliantly,
I want to hold you close.
Dancing so beautifully,
like you are a ghost.
And I watch as you make angels in the snow.
Laughing out loud!
I'll never let you go.
(Is this real? Or is it just a dream?
Falling in love so hard -
As delicious as ice cream.
Is this real? Or is it just a dream?
My heart is bursting out!
Tearing at the seams...
'Cause I'm in love!
Yeah, I'm in love...)
The winter light is fading now.
Night approaching fast.
The wind picks up,
grows colder now -
but we know the cold won't last.
Tears stream down your face,
turn to crystals as they fall.
I just hold you close to me -
won't ever let you go...
(Is this real? Or is it just a dream?
Falling so in love with you,
it makes me want to scream.
Is this real? Or is it just a dream?
Envelope you in my arms forever...
Loving you is better than ice cream.
'Cause I'm in love.
I'm in love!
Yeah...I'm in love)
