Dear Reader,
During his time on death row, Randy has written several poems/lyrics, memoirs and journals. We have recently published a collection of his poetry, Nothing Beats As Loud As My Heart, and we are currently working on his Memoir, Falling Down, which we hope to publish soon.
In August 2019, we published Randy's first collection of poetry, A Constant Light, and both books can be purchased on all Amazon platforms.
It is Randy's wish for his readers to know that he does not view his published work as 'prison poetry'; nor does he wish to see it referred to as 'prison poetry'. It's HIS own work, and stands alone as art in its own right. He is not tethered to prison, especially when he writes, and his writing is an expression of freedom.
We have many more writing projects in the works...Randy keeps busy with writing poems/lyrics, movie scripts, short memoirs and vignettes, and works on various projects with his girlfriend.
Randy has always enjoyed writing to express his creativity, and also as a means of therapy. His journals over the years have allowed his friends and supporters to keep up with his life, as well as chart the growth and maturity that has bloomed in Randy over the years. He has also chosen to write about his life as part of his 'giving back', and in the hope that others can learn from his downfall in life and how to avoid making the mistakes he did.
Please note that Randy chooses to donate the proceeds of some of his work, to various charities, details of which we will publish here at various intervals.
We thank you for taking an interest in Randy's life, and his work. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we have enjoyed working on it.
The Friends of Randy E. Halprin
